The Encounter

6 07 2008

That was amazing!

We were at Life Church today for “The Encounter,” which is a HUGE young-adult worship gathering. The worship-experience was incredible! The theme was Christian unity, and many of the area’s great worship bands, including Ndelible and Brandon Camphor & One Way, came together and sang and played as one. There was also spoken word, dance, and testimonies.

I was able to come in right when the worship was high, and give a 10 minute message on Biblical Community from Ephesians 4. God’s Word did what it does, so His people were encouraged and a handful of new family members to the body of Christ were added. It was a great night. Praise God!

Messiah Community Church

I had a great time at Messiah Community Church today. It’s obvious that they have a solid church with great community there. During the service, when we were having “Meet & Greet,” I leaned over to LaVera and said “Man, they really pass out hugs here!” LOL. There were a few faces that I had seen before and it was great to see them. An old high school classmate of mine (the former Rachel Wingfield) and the former chaplain of the Chicago Bears (Harry Swain) were there. I preached one of my favorite messages to do on being “authentic” in our walk with Christ. Overall, the whole service was great! I look forward to my next opportunity to fellowship with those Baltimore Ravens fans out in Owings Mills.

Well, I guess there’s no PERFECT church. LOL.
